    So there's this medieval feast....

I'll be going to a medieval feast this weekend and I'm trying to throw together a persona. If anyone has any ideas, I'm open. Here's what I know:

The year is 1099. England has just taken Jerusalem. Our host is a Marquis. The reasons for the feast are to celebrate having taken Jerusalem, and the safe return of his son who had fought in the crusade.

I need to be a Noble, but from where is undecided. I'd love to be Irish, but it seems that if I were Irish in England in 1099 I'd likely have to be a slave. I have a green dress that will be period appropriate, but if anyone has ideas as to other accessories I'd be happy to hear them.

I hope to have some fun pictures to share. :-)

If your host be a Marquis, then why not be a Lady of the French Court? The hairstyle and accesories could make it so. If you recall the French woman from Braveheart, even the timeframe be off a bit, that look would pass quite nicely I think. Hope you have a great time.

HMMMM - Well since this is the first crusade and the French were there in large numbers.

There is Aimerie (Aimery) IV (Viscount) de THOUARS. He fought along side Godfrey of Bouillon in the battle for Jerusalem. It looks like he had a daughter named Eleanor (Alienor) de THOUARS. You might want to research it more if it interests you.

Good Luck and let us know what you decide!
